Is it just me,
or does it seem everyone seems a little hypersensitive to say the words “Merry
Christmas”?
As I travel
about finishing up that last minute Christmas holiday errands I am becoming
more and more aware that those of us that really do celebrate Christmas are now
quietly telling one another “Merry Christmas”. Is the time gone when we looked
a stranger in the eyes and told them earnestly “Have a Merry Christmas”? Is
this because we are concerned about making those who celebrate differently uncomfortable
or are we becoming more ashamed about speaking out about celebrating the birth
of Jesus. Correct me if I am wrong, His birth is the reason we are celebrating,
right?
I know
Christmas can be bitter sweet for many people. So even if you don’t celebrate
in a traditional way, I hope that you take some time and spend it with friends
and remember those who may not have a family to be with.
This was a
blog written just to give you some food for thought.
Wishing you a Very Merry Christmas,
and May God bless each of you.
