Went clothes shopping today, see what I discovered:)

Yesterday, I decided that I needed to go through and get rid of the clothes that I had purchased two years ago. Now this was a little scary to say the least mostly because a)spending money b) afraid of what size I actually wear. I took most of my "Work" clothes to our local Cloth Closet.

Today, I got up and got ready to get out there and shop. My friend came over and picked me up. We shopped from nine-thirty to two-thirty. I have a ton of slacks, jeans, and even some new blouses. ALL of which are  two sizes smaller then where I was two years ago.

As we shopped we talked about what physical activites were are planning on doing this coming year. It is nice to share your goals with someone of the same mindset.

But I just gotta say, AdvoCare products are all amazing! I love the Spark, Rehydrate, MNS vitimins, and the Meal Replacement Shakes. Just so you know, I DO eat regular meals and snacks, but the AdvoCare just helps me have that certain "Focus" so I make wiser choices.

Okay, I am done for today.  If you  are even curious about any of the AdvoCare products, please feel free to contact me. There really isn't any dumb questions.  https://www.advocare.com/11032570

What's the Plan??

Create a definite plan for carrying out your desire and begin at once, whether you're ready or not, to put this plan into action."Napoleon Hill

What are your health goals for 2012?

Where would you like to be next year at this time?

Do you know you need to do something, but don’t know where to start?

My first suggestion is to write out what you want to accomplish on paper, and look at this regularly. Remember to break it up into long term and short term goals.

The first part of December I began my third AdvoCare Herbal Cleanse. For me this was like a reminder of the road that I am on which is taking control of my body. My 24 Day Challenge is just the beginning.

I remember when the thought of drinking eight to ten glasses of water a day, every day seemed impossible. Now I get thirsty if I have had enough water.

My goal for this coming year is not only to continue to lose those extra unwanted pounds, but to become more physically active. And because of these past nine months that I have been reaping the benefits of AdvoCare products, now I am encouraging my loved ones to do the same.

I love AdvoCare Spark. It is a great way to begin my mornings. I also use their Meal Replacement Shakes first thing in the morning. Why? They taste wonderful, and they are healthy.

I am curious, about you what are your health goals? I look forward to hearing them.

Till next time remember…

True health is a journey, not a destination; a process, not an event; a habit, not a diet.

Is It Just Me Or Is Everyone A Little Hypersensitive

Is it just me, or does it seem everyone seems a little hypersensitive to say the words “Merry Christmas”?

As I travel about finishing up that last minute Christmas holiday errands I am becoming more and more aware that those of us that really do celebrate Christmas are now quietly telling one another “Merry Christmas”. Is the time gone when we looked a stranger in the eyes and told them earnestly “Have a Merry Christmas”? Is this because we are concerned about making those who celebrate differently uncomfortable or are we becoming more ashamed about speaking out about celebrating the birth of Jesus. Correct me if I am wrong, His birth is the reason we are celebrating, right?

I know Christmas can be bitter sweet for many people. So even if you don’t celebrate in a traditional way, I hope that you take some time and spend it with friends and remember those who may not have a family to be with.

This was a blog written just to give you some food for thought.

Wishing you a Very Merry Christmas, and May God bless each of you.

Make This Christmas Count

In October, my friend, Lois Unger passed away. Lois was 29 years old. She was full of life until her health took a turn for the worse.

Melody was born four months early, she has spent many months in the NECU unit. She was home for little over a week before her Mom (Lois) died. Kaleb is now a single father of this very precious baby girl.

Please take the time to read their entire family story, then please support them. They need our love, support and help.

Thank you .

It’s All about Commitment & Choices

If you are looking to jumpstart your weight loss or are trying to breakthrough a plateau I invite you to join me.

Christmas waves a magic wand over this world, and behold, everything is softer and more beautiful. ~Norman Vincent Peale

Christmas waves a magic wand over this world, and behold, everything is softer and more beautiful. ~Norman Vincent Peale
Even though Christmas is probably one of the most stressful times of the year, I still love it. Oh it isn’t the hustle and bustle of the shopping that appeals to me. It’s the peace, the friendliness that I so enjoy. I find that most people this season start out being very much in this mood, but then the closer us approach Christmas Eve they become more stressful.

Here are my suggestions:
First decide what is important for you to complete and do this now. For me this year I have told myself that I will have written out our Christmas Cards and they will be in the mail on Monday morning.

Second remember we are all human beings just doing the best that we can. We may not be able to buy that big expensive thing that our children are sure that they ARE going to get. In case you have been living on a different planet we are in a recession. There are ways out there to show that you care without maxing out your credit cards. I am at the age where I really enjoy spending time with my loved ones, friends, family, Grandkids all of them are so precious. This year I have made many loaves of Amish Friendship bread to use as presents. If you are lucky you may get a slice.

Third enjoy the Christmas music. It is special and brings a certain spirit with it.

Finally there is a lot of helpful websites to get you organized and it isn’t too late.

One of my favorites is:www.familywithapurpose.come You will hear from me soon as I finish up my Nanowritmo challenge.

Till next time, relax and enjoy the beauty that surrounds us.

Novel fever takes the world by storm.

Lately I have been thinking about how we all express ourselves creativity. This month is NanoWritMO month. This is my third year of trying to reach the challenge of writing 50,000 word in 30 days. [And now you know where my blogs are currently hiding] This is very challenging, but it is a lot of fun. So I have taken the following to share with you I took it from their press release. There is still time, if you start right now, you may finish that novel.:) Please enjoy reading this, and if you are looking for more information on this program go to: www.lettersandlight.org I will return just as soon as I have typed that last 50000 word. Take care, Symptoms include flashes of brilliance, questionable plotlines, and blatant use of mixed metaphors. Berkeley, California (Oct 10, 2011) - At midnight on November 1, armed only with their wits, the vague outline of a story, and a ridiculous deadline, more than 250,000 people around the world will set out to become novelists. Why? Because November is National Novel Writing Month, or NaNoWriMo, the world’s largest writing challenge and nonprofit literary crusade. Participants pledge to write 50,000 words in a month, starting from scratch and reaching “The End” by November 30. There are no judges, no prizes, and entries are deleted from the server before anyone even reads them. So what’s the point? “The 50,000-word challenge has a wonderful way of opening up your imagination and unleashing creativity,” says NaNoWriMo Founder and Executive Director (and 12-time NaNoWriMo winner) Chris Baty. “When you write for quantity instead of quality, you end up getting both. Also, it’s a great excuse for not doing any dishes for a month.” More than 650 regional volunteers in more than 60 countries will hold write-ins, hosting writers in coffee shops, bookstores, and libraries. Write-ins offer a supportive environment and surprisingly effective peer pressure, turning the usually solitary act of writing into a community experience. That sense of community even extends beyond the page—so much so that several dozen marriages and at least six babies have resulted from NaNoWriMo over the years. In a few years, those babies will surely take part in NaNoWriMo’s Young Writers Program, a version of the event geared toward kids and teens. These budding authors also benefit from a community of their peers, as well as the free resources (including lesson plans, workbooks, and a snazzy classroom kit) used by thousands of educators worldwide. Although the event emphasizes creativity and adventure over creating a literary masterpiece, more than 90 novels begun during NaNoWriMo have since been published, including Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen, and The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern, both #1 New York Times Best Sellers.
“Writing a novel in a month inspires incredible confidence in seasoned and first-time novelists alike,” says NaNoWriMo Program Director Lindsey Grant. “Completing a draft of the novel they’ve been contemplating for ages gives participants a tremendous sense of accomplishment and leaves them wondering what else they’re capable of.” For more information on National Novel Writing Month, or to speak to NaNoWriMo participants in your area, visit www.nanowrimo.org or contact press@nanowrimo.org. The Office of Letters and Light is a California-based international non-profit organization. Its programs are the largest literary events in the world. Learn more at www.lettersandlight.org

Remembering MY Friend Lois Unger

Last Wednesday I attended the memorial service for my friend, Lois Unger. Lois was 29 years old. I do not understand why it was Lois' time, but I trust that it is all part of Gods bigger plan. Please take a moment and read the following and then take a look at the Unger story. My prayers are with Lois' Mother , her loving husband, and their very precious baby girl.

It was a lovely memorial service for a lovely young woman. Just 29 years old. Lois leaves behind a husband and young baby girl who was born premature (at just 23 weeks gestation in May) and who just went home from the nicu two weeks ago. She and her dad have a long road ahead.

Over 1800 Like's to the Mighty Melody page and nearly 8,000 people from 43 countries have visited http://www.mightymelodyfund.com/! Thanks to everyone who has helped to spread the word so far. Even in small ways we can all help reduce the financial burden on Kaleb. Please keep sharing the story!

Feel the Fear And Do It Anyway

As I look around me I am so inspired those people whom I have the privilege of communicating with on a daily bases. I wonder do they realize how much I learn from them.

Whether it is going through the motions of returning to college and finishing up their degree, or having the courage to go in to the doctor and find out what is happening to their body I am in awe as I see their true concern, but as they cross that invisible threshold and face their obstacle then move forward I am reminded of the challenges each of us face sometimes on a daily bases.

For me the most recent obstacle has been taking care of my bothersome knee. In March (the first weekend actually) I climbed on the kitchen chair that has rollers, and then climbed onto the kitchen counter top. I have done this all my life. This time however I twisted my knee. I began taking AdvoCare’s OmegaPlex along with their Joint Promotion. My chiropractor told me it would take about a month before it would begin to help, and it did.
Then when our vacation to Bryce Canyon was rapidly approaching me decided that it wasn’t getting any better and sought the advice of my physician, who took x-rays, then sent me to the Orthopedic Surgeon. I didn’t make the MRI or the Orthopedic Surgeon appointments until after our amazing vacation because I was afraid that I would end up with some type of knee surgery. I did manage to do some hiking on our vacation, but I was truly limited on what I could do. Oh there was so much to see and do.

Two weeks ago, with x-rays in hand (CD form) I took that step over the invisible line, and went to see the Orthopedic doctor. He told me that I had a bout of arthritis and that he didn’t think I would need surgery. Boy was I happy to hear this; he ended up giving me a Cortisone shot. He said that the next two days would be rough, then I would be a lot better in two week and in two months hopefully I will be back to 100%.
Personally, I like to be proactive in my health care. The beginning of October I begun taking Advocate’s Biotool’s this product has been designed specifically for us Baby Boomers. If you were born between 1946 and 1964 this is you. I continue to take the AdvoCare’s OmegaPlex and Joint Promotion. My knee is feeling much better.

I am quite aware though that it is very important for me to continue to strengthen the muscles that surround my knees. I want to keep my flexibility for as long as I can. My plan is to take some “Warm” water aerobic exercises, along with using bands, and walking. Then move up to doing some gentle yoga.

Look, it’s all about the little steps which we take each day, that keep up going forward. Sometimes those things we know we need to do don’t make us feel comfortable but they are good for us.

Remember EACH day we wake up, is a new life, another opportunity to step across that uncomfortable invisible line and start.
Till next time.

Stay In Touch With Your Close Connections

Is your life so busy that you are finding it hard to stay connected to those people your truly do care about. These are friendships that are high-quality, close connections you know, the ones who you enjoy spending time with, or visiting on the phone for hours. These connections need to be cultivated.

There is no greater time then when life gets full with the hectic, hurriedness to stay connected.

Recently through the magic of the internet I have had the most wonderful experience of reconnecting with those who have (in the past-childhood/teen / young adult years) was significantly important to me. I have missed these people. We have an in common bond. It has provided me with an opportunity to catch up with them.

So, I have made a quick list of ways to stay in touch with the important people in our lives and thought that I would share this list with you.
Here it goes:
Make time. Send a card either paper, or an e-card. I love the cards at www.harmark.com and it is quite reasonable too. Call, email, poke (through face book). Let them know you are there and thinking about them, because you care. They may be having a bad day, and you yes you could just brighten up their day!

Remember to be in the present.
Find out what the other persons goals are and be encouraging and do what you can to help you friend succeed.

Let them know that you believe that they will not let you down.
Make time for fun, laughter gets us through a lot. Life isn’t always easy.

So, I have shared. To my friends I love you; YOU brighten up my rather dull life. I thank God that you are there and I am there for you. Thank you.

Till next time….

Is it a cold or the flu?

Here it is again fall! I love watching fall arrive here in the Mid-West. With the coolness of the air comes the annual of the changing of the leave colors. I know with it though that lurking right around the corner is …the cold and flu season.

Did you know that the common cold, including chest cold and head cold, can be caused by more than 200 viruses? OMG!!!  Or the seasonal flu is caused by either influenza A or B viruses. Cold and flu remedies can usually ease symptoms. Antiviral medications like Relenza or Tamiflu are helpful if prescribed soon after flu symptoms start.

I think that we are beginning to see the beginning of this. Recently quite a few of my co-workers have come down with that eerie sore throat, headache, and annoying cough.

What can we do to prepare ourselves? Personally, after catching the “Whooping Cough” a few years ago I go and have an annual Flu shot. And every so many years I get an additional Phenomena shot.  Remember to cough into your arm, and wash your hands frequently. We also wipe everything down periodically in hopes of keeping the “Germs” at bay.

Recently AdvoCare introduced a product called CitriZinc.  It is for people wanting to improve their immune support. Many people don’t obtain adequate vitamin C, vitamin D or zinc in their diet. This can place them at increased risk of immune related diseases ranging from the common cold to more serious conditions.

CitriZinc™ is an easy-to-take chew with the delicious flavor of lemon and lime. CitriZinc supports immunity by providing three important nutrients most of us arent getting adequate amounts of in our daily diet: vitamin C,vitamin D, zinc to name a few.

Here is a link to my website should you be curious about any Advocare products: www.advocare.com/11032570

Get prepared this year, and please take care of yourself.
Till next timeJ

Do you know someone looking for a restful night's sleep?

Is this you?
Someone looking for a restful goodnight’s sleep
Someone who wakes up during the night
Someone who has difficulty falling asleep

Advocare has a new product out:
SleepWorks™ helps produce sound and restful sleep on occasional sleepless nights to help you awaken refreshed* through these key ingredients:
Vitamins and Minerals
With niacin, vitamin B-6, magnesium and zinc, SleepWorks helps you naturally relax and get to sleep more rapidly. Niacin contributes to calming the body and magnesium is also known to aid in addressing sleeplessness. Research suggests that obtaining recommended daily dietary intake of magnesium can contribute to improved quality of sleep.

Relaxation and Sleep Aid Botanicals
Valerian has been used as a medicinal herb since the time of ancient Greece and Rome. It has been used to treat insomnia, nervousness, and to relieve stress. Passion Flower has also traditionally been used as a calming botanical, lowering the activity of some brain cells and providing a relaxed feeling. Lemon balm and Hops are known to help reduce anxiety and promote sleep.

Neurotransmitters
Melatonin is a naturally occurring hormone produced within the body and is involved in a complex process that regulates the body’s circadian rhythm. A large analysis revealed several of melatonin’s sleep-enhancing benefits. Reviewing 15 sleep studies in healthy adults, scientists noted that melatonin administration significantly reduced the amount of time needed to fall asleep, while boosting sleep efficiency and increasing total sleep duration. GABA (Gamma-aminobutyric acid), an inhibitory neurotransmitter, has been proven to be effective in improving sleep cycles because of its ability to bring calm and rest to bodily functions.

Consult your healthcare professional before taking SleepWorks or if sleeplessness persists after taking SleepWorks. Do not combine with other sleep aids, sedatives, tranquilizers or alcohol. Do not drive or operate machinery after taking.

This product is not intended for pregnant or nursing women or persons under 18 years of age. Keep out of reach of children.
Directions:       Drink contents of one 2 oz. bottle approximately 30 minutes before bedtime.

Why Cell Phones and Driving Don’t Mix

It was 7:30 in the morning as I got in my car and started driving myself to work. It was a truly beautiful Mid-West Fall morning. As I reached the main street that leads to the freeway I found myself looking at the other drivers. At first I thought it was just my imagination playing a trick on me because it seemed like every driver that I looked at had their hand cupped to their ear talking on their cell phone. I couldn’t believe my eyes. I couldn’t help to wonder what was going on that was so important (this early in the morning) that they had to be talking to someone. Then I began to wonder how awake these people are anyway?  I managed to make it safely to work but noticed the same thing as I drove back home. The only difference going home I took the side streets instead of the freeway. Yep, I saw the same thing. Going home some of the drivers were so engrossed in their conversation that they ignored the “Green” left lane turn light!

To me the notion thought of talking on a cell phone while driving a car –OR Motorcycle (oh yes saw this tonight) while driving a car isn’t safe seems obvious.

And the only logical reasons I can think of for talking / texting during driving:
Trying to get directions from someone on the other line and you has no paper to stop and write it down
Addiction to cellular phones
So please stay safe. It is an important step in getting healthy. And if you happen to be one of those who are gets sucked into your cell phone conversations while you are driving, please remember those other people around you. You are taking big chances on your life and the lives of the people that surround you.

Getting Healthy Begins With One Baby Step at a Time

Have you ever noticed how some days are just easier than others? I know for myself a lot of it has to do with the “Mood” that I wake up in. As you can tell through reading these blogs I have been focusing and working on trying to get healthy for quite some time.

For me I have noticed that instead of jumping out of bed in the morning, and throwing my clothes on and heading off to work that I have actually set an alarm clock (what an ideaJ) for 45 minutes before I normally would be getting up. It helps me not feel so rushed.  Yes, I do lie in bed for about thirty minutes, and then I begin the process of getting up. I start out taking my MNS 3 packet (vitamins), and then go get dressed. I Mix up my morning AdvoCare Spark, and sit in my favorite kitchen chair and contemplate the day while drinking my morning juice.  I go do my hair, then come back and make and drink my Meal Replacement Shake (I like to rotate out the flavors). By the way did you know that AdvoCare Meal Replacement is made by Haagen - Dazs? It’s probably why they taste so good.

Now, I am not saying that you need to be doing what I rather I believe that the structure of my morning does influence the outcome of my day.

I enjoy walking when I can. I know that exercise is very important for a lot of reasons. However, currently I am waiting to see what is going on with my knee. I messed it up in March. I did go have an MRI this past week. In the meantime I currently use AdvoCare’s OmegaPlex and Joint Promotion. I have done some research and will soon be using AdvoCare’s Bio Tools with my MNS3. I want to avoid surgery, can you tell.

One last thing, this is a beautiful time of the year here in the Mid-West now is the time to get out and do a little around the yard, or go for a walk. Fresh air, sunlight, and a cool breeze it’s the best way to relax.

Till next time.

Were you born between the years 1946 – 1964 then you are one of the Baby Boomers.  I’m one too. Are you aware that we represent a very large segment of today’s population?

Physical activity can improve our strength, flexibility and balance. I like using an exercise ball and sit on it and roll around.  Ask your health care provide which activities are safe for you. I have recently begun to stretch before walking.
AdvoCare offers a product called BioCharge made especially for Baby Boomers. A two-supplement system designed for our specific stage of life. Featuring AdvoCare BioTune® and BioCharge®.
BioCharge®:
BioCharge® is designed to facilitate the restoration of our epigenome status to a more youthful setting.* This anti-aging action is accomplished through antioxidant rich botanicals combined with B vitamins and branched chain amino acids (BCAAs).* BCAAs are critical for activation of genetic resources in skeletal muscle and adipose tissue. During exercise the presence of BCAAs helps promote the genetic code that leads to lean body mass, improved muscle performance and recovery.

Delayed recovery from exercise is a hallmark of aging. For those who do not maintain an active lifestyle, twinges, aches, stiffness and pains may be a common and constant companion. An imbalance in the epigenome is a major contributor to these events. In addition to the BCAAs, the botanicals in BioCharge are known to help correct these imbalances in the epigenome and provide anti-inflammatory actions.*

Taurine and B vitamins within BioCharge address the loss of energy that Baby Boomers feel.* Non-jittery energy that is focused and sustained is a characteristic of these components.* Since some Boomers can be less tolerant of some of the effects of caffeine, BioCharge is caffeine free.

BioTune®:
Ingredient research has shown that nutrients in BioTune are able to help restore the use of genetic resources.* They do not change the DNA code - we inherit that code from our parents. But how we use that code has a large bearing on our health.

Think of the genetic code like the hardware in a computer. It does not change and is the same in all cells, whether they are skin, nerves, liver or muscle. However, what tells those cells to act in the correct manner and perform their assigned roles and functions are a series of molecular switches called the "epigenome". If the DNA is the hardware, then these switches are the software that determines how cells act and function.

Over time, or due to poor nutrition and environmental factors the software program can shift in its performance. This dysfunction in our cellular software can contribute to the problems that we collectively call Boomeritis and other conditions associated with aging.

The ingredients in BioTune are naturally occurring substances with ingredient research support demonstrating their actions as guardians of the epigenome. These materials possess complex chemical structures and work in a variety of ways, with the combination bringing diverse approaches to health and wellness through a multitude of actions.* The end result is a more youthful feeling that results from synchronizing your genes with nature.

This being shared, I currently am on day 4 of my Herbal Cleanse, once I am finished with this I will start on BioTune for several reasons.

I currently use: OmegaPlex, MNS3,  Meal Replacement, Joint ProMotion, Catalyst, Rehydrate, and Spark. All of which I am thrilled to be apart of.

Do yourself a favor… focus on yourself! You deserve it.

“The most creative act you will ever
undertake is the act of creating yourself.”
Deepak Chopra
When was the last time you worked on YOURSELF? Successful people tend to be among the most giving and selfless. You probably focus your time and energy on your family, your career, your friends, and your home. Do yourself a favor… focus on yourself! You deserve it. Strive to re-create who you are into who you want to be. You’ll find it to be among the most rewarding acts you ever engage in. – Nightingale-Conant Corporation

This week I have begun the ten day process of Advocare’s Herbal Cleanse. For me it is like drawing that line in the sand, a “New” beginning of sorts. A time for me to reflect somewhat on where I have been, how far I have come thus far – losing 23 pounds and many inches.  On day one I recorded my weight and measurements I will let you know in little over a week how I did.

Someone today who is also struggling with getting older and trying to lose weight asked me how I can control myself around all the “Junk” food that is lying around the workplace. I told her “This is why I take my AdvoCare vitamins; they give me the control over choosing what I want to eat viruses having the junk food just because it’s there”. After I said this I saw a warm fuzzy smile inside myself. Softly I heard that inner voice say, I am proud of you for taking the baby steps, you are right this is what your AdvoCare products does for you.

Do you feel that little voice saying “It’s time for you to focus more on yourself? “ If you are looking for a way to gain some control over food, or a Plan B income feel free to contact me.

The Challenge That Changed My Life...

In Feburary  2011 I took a 24 day challenge through Advocare that has really helped me. First I took out the tape measure, and wrote down my measurements ( I am a sceptic) the first ten days was what is called a liver cleane ( really it is uneventful) and I made sure to follow the instructions, and eat protien, and veggies plus drink the water... It never made me feel bad in anyway  actually I felt even better then I had in a really long time, then the final two weeks I just got in a regime , I use a product called "Spark" you mix it with water. Take some vitimins, then shower and get ready for work. Then I drink a protien drink ( which is made by Hogendauz), I usually pack my lunch. A very long story shortened here, By the end of my challenge I had lost weight, but even more important is the 20 inches that is gone!
I am still on this product, and if you are intrested her is my Advocare link. Let me know if I can help you. Thanks for your comment, I truly appreciate it.

Life is A Highway

A few years ago I was diagnosed with Oscopenia, and colitous both I believe is just a part of aging. I began taking Calcium and watching myself to make sure I was actually getting my fiber.  At one point I had to go on Vitamin D prescription.  They said it would make me feel better.

Next thing to go out was my shoulders! About two years ago when I finally decided that I was going to have to do something if I was ever going to be able to lift up my arms over my head. Have you ever had one of those moments when you knew you had to do something, then someone comes in, sees your distress and tells you what they think you need to do and you realize that maybe they have a good idea. Well that is where I was, I had spent months fighting with putting on my clothing in a timely fashion so I could get to work on time. Not being able to just put on my bra was my last straw. When my dear friend suggested that I just go see her chiropractor, I called that day. Let me tell you it took awhile to get my arms and shoulders working again. I am so thankful that she opened up her mouth and told me her honest opinion on how to get help.

Once I began to feel like myself again it was wonderful! I came to realize just how good I could feel. I picked up a copy of a Suzanne Summers book and read it but stopped when the thought of drinking tap water scared the hell out of me. So I went out and bought a Brita pitcher. I am still using this.

Next was the realization that our food (i.e. veggie and fruit) no longer have the nutrients like they did twenty years ago. So I did research, and decided to try this “Carbon” based vitamin that needs to be kept in the refigator once it was opened. And you couldn’t just start taking this stuff; you had to work it in, slowly.

In January of this year my sister-in-law gave me some AdvoCare Spark. It is full of vitamins; you mix it in water, and believe me it will give you the energy you’re looking for. After using it for a few days I no longer had the drug out feeling. I noticed that I wasn’t craving the coffee or the chocolate when I would get stressed.

I am a skeptic so I did my research about AdvoCare products. There are all kinds of professional athletes using this stuff!  Finally I decided to take the 24 Day Challenge. Basically the first ten days is a liver “Uneventful” cleanse. The next fourteen days you do a regiment. I made sure and weighed and measured myself to have proof that it either worked or didn’t. At the end of my challenge I was so surprised! Not only had I lost weight but I lost a ton of inches too. Oh by the way, you have to eat regular food when you are on this.

Well, I think I’ve gotten away from the point of this blog, but may not. My point is this, it is my opinion that we are on a journey, and we are to take care of our vessel (our body). I want to live my life to the fullest and I guess I am looking for a quality of life.

Enough lectures… sorry… till next time,

Terri

Fresh air impoverishes the doctor. ~Danish Proverb

My husband truly amazes me. Lowell has been truly blessed with good health. Seldom does he go to the doctor, and seldom does he ever get sick.

However, this past Monday he went in and had a hernia repaired. This was done at the VA hospital here. This for me means that I would be driving at least home from this huge downtown facility. We arrived before 6 a.m.; surgery was scheduled for 7:30 a.m. I come prepared complete with tablet in hand writing down exactly where we parked, what door we entered, and what floor we were on.

As you might imagine, the VA was quite a bit different then the local hospital that I had been in. I was pretty nervous about the whole thing, but it turned into a very positive thing. Everyone was considerate, taking their time to help me, even when I was frazzled because I didn’t know “Which” waiting room I was supposed to be at. I am thankful for the wonderful people that took great care of my husband.

Got to tell you though, Lowell came out of the recovery room pushing his wheelchair, and actually walked to the car. Once at home, he had a little realized he needed to rest. I made him lots of AdvoCare Rehydrate which he is still drinking. He wanted to make sure and get the medicine from the surgery out of his system. He also uses OmegaPlex and Spark.

The weather has actually cooled off some so it’s now in the high 70’s low 80’s which makes reading outside in the fresh air perfect.

And so rested, read, and relax he has been doing. But he also is still helping out around here. He has to remind himself of what he can and cannot do.

We were reminded through this how important it is for us to take care of our bodies “Now” while we are able to.

Take care,

Till next time

I Dare You To Step Out of Your Comfort Zone:)

I have decided that it is time for me to step out of my comfort zone. AND BOY at times am I a big chicken.  This week we are planning out all the toddler and story time programming between September through May of 2012! Can you believe it? Wow! I have decided once this is accomplished, which will hopefully be this coming Friday then my next plan is to get next summers programming in place.

I recently went to an AdvoCare meeting where 200 attended. It was a couple from Seattle talking about their live, and how events unfolded. What I came to realize is there was a LEAP of Faith involved- that took place, and it came from the husband's FATHER. This man listened, to that little voice within himself and took a LEAP of faith not once, but twice~ this propelled this couple to the postion where they are today.

I personally was moved by the whole story to the point where I am convicted to make this move.  So, at my work life I plan to make even more contact with those families whom need to hear about the public library, and the importance of reading and interacting with their children.

In my personal life I want to OPEN my mouth and share the amazing changes that I am experiencing within myself since I found, and started using AdvoCare products. I feel better and have more energy now then I did even twelve years ago. Who knew that once I tasted their Spark, it would change my life forever. And I can SEE the difference in those around me who have joined me in this adventure.

If you would like to read about my Advocare story you can find it at: https://www.advocare.com/11032570
Thanks for checking in and for reading my blog. I hope that you will return often.
Till next time,

Its the First Of August!

Can you believe that it is already the first of August? Where I live it has been nothing but hot and muggy for what seems like weeks now. I just ran an errand on my lunch hour and the car says it is 107 outside. Well you better believe I am drinking my water and trying to stay cool.

I have had a few of my friends asking how am I doing, so thought that I would take the time to update you.  I am still faithfully using my AdvoCare products, which now include the OmegaPlex, along with the Joint Vitimins. On exactly the forth week of using these two things, my knee finally quite hurting. I had "Wrenched" it the first of March 2011. So now that my knee isn't hurting I actually am enjoying getting out and walking. (Mall walking:))

I continue to loose the inches and weight-though the weight isn't melting off of me. I can honestly say, I feel better now then I have in about 15 years.

I find that I gravitate toward the salad, and "good" stuff and very seldom indulge in the Chocolate anymore.

Well, this is it for now.

Summer Colds

I have heard for years now that there isn't anything worse then a summer cold. However I have never really had one that is until this past week. Boy and once it hit there was no turning back. So to sum it up, I have never sweat, and drank so much then I have this past week. I have still been following my routine  including drinking my Spark, and Protien Meal Replacement, took my vitimins but have added "Lots" of Rehydrate.
Did you know that Advocare's Rehydrate (its a powder, and you put it into 8 oz of water) then drink is equal to 3 CUPS of water?
I hate not feeling my best- and I am glad the worst is behind me.
Looking forward to some cooler weather, complete with some light rain.(Yea, its still flooding around here)

Take care. Till next time

Looking for Energy In All The Right Places:)

In 2009, at the age of 55, I began to feel like the only thing that I had energy to do was to work 40 hours a week.
I knew that the food we eat was lacking in nutrition. I also knew that my waistline had done nothing but grown the past ten years. My obesity was starting to take its toll on my health.
Then a few months ago my sister-in-law Julie gave me some AdvoCare Spark to try. I could immediately felt more focused and energetic. It was like my body knew that there was something special about AdvoCare. It was amazing! In fact the longer I used the AdvoCare Spark the less I thought about having to have coffee, or reaching for the chocolate when I felt tired, and dragging. I stopped feeling like I needed to curl up and take a nap in the middle of the afternoon.
In March of 2011 during a visit with my sister-in-law Julie we sat down and talked about the other products that AdvoCare offers.
During this visit I made the decision to commit to the AdvoCare 24 day Challenge. I thought what’s a month, and besides it will give me an opportunity to “See if it works or not”. Little did I know this day would change my life? When I told Julie that I wanted to take the AdvoCare 24 Day Challenge and she immediately got me on the phone with Kristy Atkinson. Both Julie and Kristy were very helpful at answering any questions that I had.
During this conversation Kristy told me that she is making a full time income on a part time basis and she has what I wanted – Time, Health, and Living Debt free.
Before I began, I made sure to weigh and measure myself. I wanted to see some “Proof”.
Within my first 90 days on AdvoCare I lost a total of 34.5 inches AND 10 pounds. I recently told my husband, the hardest part was just making up my mind to “Just do it!”
Here’s what I did:
I took the 24 Day Challenge and went to the Distributor level. Upon seeing my results and realizing how amazing the AdvoCare products are I made the decision that I will be using them for the rest of my life, so I moved to the top level and became an Advisor. I did this for two reasons: the best product discounts (40%) and to begin building a business. I believe in the integrity and vision of this company.
Where I am:
I am new to AdvoCare, so I am just starting on my business side. Currently I am telling my story to anyone and everyone who will listen. I love how my body feels since I began using them. I am building health minded friends through this company.
Where I am Going:
My goal is to one day have an income of $115,000 and then to continue to grow my business. I am looking to help others who want a life of financial freedom and who are passionate to change others lives.
If you are someone looking to feel better whether you are overweight, tired a lot of the time, or trying to become my physically fit I encourage you to try the AdvoCare products.
I am here to help you with any of the AdvoCare product and I can help you reach your financial goals.

There really isn’t anything hard about following the AdvoCare plan.
